Jesus, our Bridegroom

The gospel of Matthew 25:6 presents our Lord Jesus Christ as the long awaited Bridegroom. In the gospel of Matthew 9:14-17, the disciples of John came to Jesus, saying, “Why do we and the Pharisees fast, but your disciples do not fast?” And Jesus said to them, “Can the wedding guests mourn as long as the bridegroom is with them? The days will come, when the bridegroom is taken away from them, and then they will fast." Our Lord Jesus Christ is the One we are fasting for. He is the One we long for. He is indeed the long awaited Messiah. To him be glory and praise both now and forevermore - Amen!
