Jesus, the Great Healer

The gospel of Matthew 8:5-17 presents our Lord Jesus Christ as the great Physician. Even without visiting the home of the centurion Jesus healed his servant with a spoken word. He said to the centurion, “Go; let it be done for you as you have believed.” And the servant was healed at that very moment. when Jesus entered Peter’s house, he saw his mother-in-law lying sick with a fever; he touched her hand, and the fever left her, and she rose and served him. That evening they brought to him many who were possessed with demons; and he cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick. This was to fulfill what was spoken by the prophet Isaiah, “He took our infirmities and bore our diseases.” With these extraordinary cases our Lord Jesus Christ proved to the world that he is the greatest Physician the world has ever known. He is our Healer. To him be glory and praise both now and forevermore - Amen!

Jesus, the Lord with a Difference

Our Lord Jesus Christ is not just an ordinary lord. He is Lord with a difference. He is not the kind of lord we can call any how. His Lordship is quite different from other lords. In the gospel of Matthew     7:21-29 he told his followers, “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you evildoers.’ “Every one then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house upon the rock; and the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat upon that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock." We may deceive other lords but we cannot deceive our Lord Jesus Christ. He is the Lord of lord and the King of kings. To him be glory and praise both now and forevermore - Amen!

Jesus, the only Way that Leads to Life

In the gospel of John 14:6 our Lord Jesus Christ introduced himself as "the Way, the Truth and the Life." He is the only Way that leads to life. In the gospel of Matthew 7: 12-14 Jesus told his followers, “Enter by the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is easy, that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. For the gate is narrow and the way is hard, that leads to life, and those who find it are few.” Child of God, as long as you are connected with Christ Jesus, you are connected to the way that leads to life. With Jesus, you will enjoy abundant and eternal life; and it shall be well with you in Jesus name - Amen!

JESUS, THE MASTER OF PRAYER

The gospel of Matthew 6:7-15 presents our Lord Jesus Christ as the Master of Prayer. He is the Most prayerful Man the world has ever known. Prayer was like food to him. Prayer itself is the channel through which we communicate with our unseen Heavenly Father. It is solution to most of our problem. With prayer all things are possible! The best thing he did for his disciples was to teach them how to pray.
In today's gospel our Lord Jesus Christ told his followers,
“In praying do not heap up empty phrases as the Gentiles do; for they think that they will be heard for their many words. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him."  Prayer is faith exercise. We don't need to over stress ourselves in prayer.

Jesus then taught his followers the best way to pray, He said "Pray then like this:

Our Father who art in heaven,
Hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come,
Thy will be done,
On earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread;
And forgive us our trespasses,
As we forgive those who trespass against us;
And lead us not into temptation,
But deliver us from evil.
For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father also will forgive you; but if you do not forgive men their trespasses neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.”

This is the best form of prayer. It contains everything we need here on earth. The best part of this prayer is the part that links us with God the father. We can now address God as our Father. Since God is our father, He will surely provide for all our needs. To him be glory and praise both now and forevermore - Amen!

JESUS, THE MASTER OF LOVE

Our Lord Jesus Christ is the beloved Son of God (John 3:16). He is God's expression of love to the world. When he was in the world Jesus was the Master of love. He taught people the importance of love and even how they must love. He loved the world so much that he laid down his life for his friends. This is the greatest expression of love (John 15:13). As he was dying on the cross he prayed for his executioners, saying, "Father, forgive them for they  do not know not what they are doing." (Luke 23:34).
In the gospel of Matthew 5:43-48 our Lord Jesus Christ taught his disciples the essence of love. 43 “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ 44 But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, 45 so that you may be children of your Father in heaven; for he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the righteous and on the unrighteous. 46 For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? 47 And if you greet only your brothers and sisters,[a] what more are you doing than others? Do not even the Gentiles do the same? 48 Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect."
Love is not limited. Love is for all and for real. If we must be like Christ then we must be ready to love not just our friends and well wishers but also our enemies. As you do so God will richly bless you in Jesus name - Amen!

Jesus, the Righteous Messiah

Our Lord Jesus Christ was a righteous Man. He also taught his disciple how to live a life of righteousness. In the gospel of Matthew 5:20-26 he told his disciples, “Unless your righteousness exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. “You have heard that it was said to the men of old, ‘You shall not kill; and whoever kills shall be liable to judgment.’ But I say to you that everyone who is angry with his brother shall be liable to judgment; whoever insults his brother shall be liable to the council, and whoever says, ‘You fool!’ shall be liable to the hell of fire. So if you are offering your gift at the altar, and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there before the altar and go; first be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift." One cannot give what He does not have. Jesus was able to teach his disciple how to live righteously because He himself lived a righteous life. he is indeed the most Righteous Man the world has ever known. To him be glory and praise both now and forevermore - Amen!

Jesus, the Law Abiding Citizen

In the gospel of Matthew 5:17-19 our Lord Jesus Christ said, “Do not think that I have come to abolish the law and the prophets; I have come not to abolish them but to fulfil them. For truly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the law until all is accomplished. Whoever then relaxes one of the least of these commandments and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but he who does them and teaches them shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.”Our Lord Jesus Christ is not just a law giver, He is also a law abiding citizen. He was not a rebel. He also wants his followers to be law-abiding. With him, there is peace and order and To him be glory and praise both now and forever - Amen!

Jesus, the Light of the World

In the gospel of John 8:12 our Lord Jesus Christ introduced himself as the Light of the world. In Matthew 5:13-16 he told his followers:  “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do men light a lamp and put it under a bushel, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.” Our Lord Jesus Christ is not just the Light of the world his followers are also the light of the world. With him, there is no darkness at all. And to him be gory and praise both now and forevermore - Amen!

Jesus, our Elder Brother

Jesus did not allow himself to be limited by his tribe or even his family. He was the Man of the people. In the gospel of Mark 3:20-35 his mother and brethren came looking for him and as they were standing outside they sent to him and called him. And a crowd was sitting about him; and they said to him, “Your mother and your brethren are outside, asking for you.” And he replied, “Who are my mother and my brethren?” And looking around on those who sat about him, he said, “Here are my mother and my brethren! Whoever does the will of God is my brother, and sister, and mother.” With this declaration Jesus is indeed our Elder Brother. He is not just the brothers of the Jews but our universal Elder brother. Child of God, as long as you doing the will of God you are a brother and a sister of our Lord Jesus Christ. To him be glory and praise both now and forevermore- Amen!

Jesus, the Wise and Just Leader

A wise leader utters nothing but wisdom. His speeches are full of insights and inspirations. People usually consult wise leaders before taking any major decision. They know quite well that the wise leader will never deceive or mislead them. in the gospel of Mark 12:13-17 the Pharisees and some of the Herodians came to entrap Jesus. They asked him, “Teacher, we know that you are true, and care for no man; for you do not regard the position of men but truly teach the way of God. Is it lawful to pay taxes to Caesar, or not? Should we pay them, or should we not?” But knowing their hypocrisy, he said to them, “Why put me to the test? Bring me a coin, and let me look at it.” And they brought one. And he said to them, “Whose likeness and inscription is this?” They said to him, “Caesar’s.” Jesus said to them, “Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.” And they were amazed at him. As a wise leader Jesus did not contradict himself. He did not even fall into the trap of his enemies. He was able to answer wisely. Even his opponents were amazed. They all admired his wisdom. Child of God, as you continue to follow Christ, He will continue to inspire you. He will always direct you on what to say and what to do. He will not allow the enemies to humiliate you. And it shall be well with you in Jesus name - Amen!

Jesus, the Friend of Tax Collectors

Our Lord Jesus Christ is the friend and Saviour of all. When he was in the world in did not discriminate. He was rather friendly to all.  ...
